His special brands of optimism and determination have inspired those around him, both through his actions and his writing. Born visually impaired, Jake chooses to look upon his handicap as another challenge to be met, but not one that will slow him down. Having been published in both the United States and in Europe, his writing is included in Reflections of Light, The National Library of Poetry, 1994; the Austin American-Statesman, 1993; Glimpses, Aukamm School Edition, 1990-91; Sparks, European Edition, 1989. Currently a ninth-grader at Anderson High School, Jake resides with his family in Austin, Texas. Inscribed by Author(s).
