This series contains 205 plates with views of cities, castles etc. in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands with comprised the Kingdom at the time. This series followed the succes of 'Vogage Pittoresque .', published in 1825. Plates by Madou, Kreins, De Pellaert, Pringret, General von der Howen, A. de Marbaix, Lemaitre. One also finds this series bound in 2 volumes, probably at a later date as the printing history of bound volumes is unclear and the plates probably only appeared in installments. At any rate the cost of the individual installments was 4,25 guilders for a total of 144,50 guilders, a fortune at the time. Condition: very good, given age. As usual with prints printed on this type of paper and age, some scattered foxing, which we can remove on request. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
