He began collecting stoneware by Carl-Harry Stålhane, designed for the Rörstrand porcelain factory during the 1950s and 1960s. Ruhwald was fascinated by the perfection of Stålhane's pieces and their technically advanced glazes - the result of close collaboration between various skilled professionals at the factory. These objects served as the inspiration for a new series of works that Ruhwald calls 'Glasur Stykker'. The catalogue 'Ruhwald vs. Stålhane' accompanies an exhibition at Rian Design Museum and Rörstrand Museum, where Ruhwald presents his 'Glasur Stykker' alongside Stålhane pieces from his own collection and others. The catalogue offers perspectives on the work of both artists and features texts in Swedish and English; it also includes a text by Anders Ruhwald in Danish and English. - - - Keramiken Anders Herwald Ruhwald är född och uppvuxen i Danmark, men verksam i USA sedan många år. Han har kommit att börja samla på stengods av Carl-Harry Stålhane, formgivet för Rörstrands porslinsfabrik på 1950- och 60-talen. Anders Ruhwald har fascinerats av Stålhanepjäsernas perfektion och tekniskt avancerade glasyrer, som var frukten av ett nära samarbete mellan olika yrkeskompetenser på fabriken.
