Unknown (illustrator). The Rustler Annual 1907, Hardcover, 86 pages, in Excellent Used Condition (EUC) plus Ephemera Edited by the "Rustler" Staff, Published by the Students of Fremont High School, Fremont, Nebraska Printed by Hammond Printing Co., Fremont, Nebraska This is a Rare Antique Hardcover Book as it is the first Annual (Yearbook) published by Fremont High School. The Rustler was also the name given to the newly created student newspaper which published 8 issues throughout the 1906-1907 school year. The book is in outstanding condition after over 115 years. The binding is tight with no loose or missing pages. The decorated endpapers are very nice. A date was written in ink on the front flyleaf, and it appears a name was written above it, but the name has faded or it was removed previously. No pencil, pen or ink marks were observed on other pages. The covers show wear consistent with the book's age including a small worn through patch where the front cover meets the spine at the bottom, bumped corners, shelf wear, and spotting which could be due to exposure to moisture or due to regular handling. The front flyleaf and the following page have separated from the binding a bit at the bottom, but the pages are still fully attached to the book. See pics. The pages remain mostly white with a little darkening here and there, especially the front and back flyleaves and the pages immediately after and before, and there are some small dark spots and/or stains in a few places. The Ephemera included with the book is in the form of handwritten notes on small pieces of lined paper and note paper. The notes include information apparently about students, faculty and others mentioned in the annual. This book would make an excellent addition to any antiquarian library, and especially to a collection of annuals/yearbooks. First come, first served. Cross posted. Smoke-free, pet-free home. Shipped in a box to protect the book as best as possible. Tracking provided.
