Very good, no DJ - as issued. Minor shelf/edge wear and rubbing to dark blue cloth spine over tan cloth boards with black titles - corners lightly bumped. Author dedication and signature on FFEP - To Mr. Richard Ashhurst with the good wishes of the compiler, Harry S. Ruth. No other markings - all pages are clean and unmarked. Endpapers have some toning from something laid in previously. Title page states Author Harry S. Ruth was the historian of the Roy Kelly Post of the American Legion in Ashland, Wisconsin, and served as a chaplain during the war. Most of the men from Ashland County served in the 32 "Red Arrow" Division in France. Includes information on those serving from the various villages in the county from 1917-1919. many remembrances: someone being tarred and feathered, people painting over German shop signs and more daily occurrences during that period. War Dead, Military Records, Civilian Service Records, Divisions. Sections include: City of Ashland, Ashland County, City of Mellen, City of Glidden, Village of Butternut, Marengo and much more.
