First published in 1926, this is the Enlarged Edition from 1929, in 128 pages with colorful illustrations & pen-&-ink drawings throughout, Small hardcover has green cloth-covered boards edged & lettered in gilt to front & spine (nearly completely faded here), with a front paper pastedown showing Santa in his sleigh by artist Milo Winter. Condition is Fair (& priced accordingly): heavy rubbing to exterior, with fraying at all corners & spine tips. Small soiled area to bottom fore edge side corner of front cover. But the sewn binding is strong & straight, pages creamy white with the random soiled spot or tear/chip; mild overall tanning. Images are colorful & full of vintage charm for a new generation of young readers at holiday time. No DJ.
