K10plusPPN 869155245 (I) und 1326466593. - Die zwei Teile stellen den Anfang der seltenen Sammlung "Pères du desert" von Sadeler und Collaert dar (Ebert). - Die Kupfer liegen meist in guten bis kräftigen Abzügen vor. - Johann Sadeler (Brüssel 1550-1600 Venedig) aus der bekannten flämischen Kupferstecherfamilie war ungemein produktiv. Anfangs als Büchsenschifter und Waffenätzer aktiv, wurde er 1572 als "Figurensnyder" in der Gilde zu Antwerpen eingetragen. Nachweisbar über viele Stationen bzw. Wirkungsstätten in Europa war er schließlich 1589 in München als Hofkupferstecher angestellt und bis März 1595 dort wohnhaft (Th.-Becker XXIX/300). - Außengelenke geplatzt. Einband berieben und bestoßen. Rücken am Fuß mit Fehlstelle. Vorsätze und fliegende Vorsätze mit wenigen alten Bibliothekssignaturen sowie einem rasierten Stempel. Wenig stock- bzw. fingerfleckig. Prima serie: 12 tavole incise da matrice di rame su carta vergellata, alcune con filigrana dell`ancora e corona; firmate in lastra da Martin de Vos e Sadeler, titolo e, a volte, data, all`extramargine inferiore; rappresentano scene dell`antico testamento. Seconda serie: 12 tavole incise da lastra di rame su carta vergellata con alcune filigranate con l`ancora o corona. Firma di Martin de Vos e Sadeler in lastra, titolo all`extra-mergine inferiore; rappresentano scene del nuovo testamento. Bella raccolta, in particolare la seconda serie che, pur presentando dimensioni minori in lastra rispetto alla prima serie, sono di qualità migliore. Esemplare in buono stato conservativo a grandi margini; tracce di uso alla legatura; leggeri aloni al bordo e all`angolo superiore, molto lontani dall`immagine; sporadiche tracce di sporco, inchiostratura vivida. Marcus Sadeler (Haarlem 1586-87) Paesaggio fluviale Bulino misure: mm 201 x 263 I Sadeler furono una numerosa famiglia di artisti fiamminghi, principalmente incisori di riproduzione, attivi in tutta Europa tra il XVI e il  XVII secolo. Lo stile dei membri della famiglia è molto simile e non sempre facilmente distinguibile ma per tre generazioni, spostandosi dall'Olanda all'Italia, fermandosi in Germania e a Praga, questi incisori, editori e commercianti di stampe hanno giocato un ruolo centrale nella diffusione delle immagini. Marcus o Marco, fu uno stampatore e forse anche editore che operò ad Haarlem nel periodo 1586-87, si presume sia stato un membro della famiglia anche se non ci restano documenti che ne provino il legame. In questa stampa protagonista è il letto di un torrente montano scavato fra le rocce e gli alberi con ricche foglie. In primo piano sulla sinistra sono descritti due cacciatori con il loro cane da caccia, discutono fra di loro e procedono verso lo spettatore lungo una strada sterrata. Dietro di loro un contadino e i suoi asini da soma avanzano in direzione opposta. Appena accennato sullo sfondo il fiume sfocia in un lago solcato da imbarcazioni. Sempre sullo sfondo a sinistra è appena visibile una città. Il cielo è coperto da nubi cariche di pioggia, realizzate con forti giochi chiaroscurali che vanno dal nero al grigio chiaro, lasciano intravedere i raggi del sole. In basso a destra, oltre l'immagine inciso "Marco Sadeler excudit" Buona eccellente. Ottimo stato di conservazione, eccetto una piega verticale al centro. Rifilata alla battuta del rame.
