The typeface used for the title page is Engravers MT while that in the body of the text is based on the Perpetua Gill Family font designed by Eric Gill between 1925 and 1929 for Stanley Morrison, the typographical advisor to Monotype. The capitals and ornaments are ITC Golden Cockerell Capitals and Ornament font.
