The first printing, with no additional printings noted. Frontispiece portrait of Mrs. Roosevelt. Solid text block, internally clean. Includes the bookplate of Dr. John F. McHugh and his "Rooseveltiana" collection bookplate. In the publisher's dust jacket, $2.50 on the front flap, touch of shelf wear and wear to heel of the spine, tape repair at heel of the spine, a very good example. (Edens, I15) Signed on the half-title by Eleanor Roosevelt. Provenance: From the private collection of Dr. John F. McHugh of Allentown, lifelong collector of Rooseveltiana. Signed at the Congress Hotel in Chicago, April 12, 1954. This work is accompanied by a full history of the meeting between McHugh and Mrs. Roosevelt in Chicago. The book is also featured in a newspaper article about McHugh's meeting with Harry Truman and Eleanor Roosevelt in the "The Morning Call," from Allentown, PA. Signed.
