I saggi introduttivi approfondiscono aspetti chiave delle tecniche e dei mestieri artistici, mentre tre storie ricavate da altrettante epigrafi avvicinano il lettore a una dimensione più intima e umana, rivelata dalle parole incise sulla pietra.
