Wohnen ist ein Lebensbereich mit elementarer Bedeutung, denn er ist der Mittelpunkt alltäglicher Lebenserfahrung. Wohnen ist aber auch eine Form der sozialen Interaktion, es schließt das Wohnumfeld ebenso mit ein wie die soziale Nachbarschaft. Der Standort der Wohnung ist ausschlaggebend für die Einbettung in soziale Beziehungsnetze. Das französische Viertel in Tübingen ist, mit seinem preisgekrönten Konzept, inzwischen zum beispielgebenden Vorbild und internationalen Leitbild für nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung geworden. Es hat eine Vielzahl von Preisen erhalten, unter anderem den deutschen Städtepreis 2001. Es kann als eine Art Gegenmodell zum seit Jahrzehnten gängigen Verfahren der Nutzungstrennung und der strengen Separierung von Arbeiten und Wohnen gesehen werden. Durch das Konzept innerstädtischen Wohnens und die Mischung der Sozialstruktur entsteht eine große Vielfalt an Wohnformen. Durch meine, an das Französische Viertel angrenzende Wohnlage nutze ich selbst oft die kurzen Wege, die der Stadtteil durch die vielfältige Infrastruktur bietet. Für diese Nutzung ausschlaggebend sind für mich aber auch die kinderfreundlichen Spiel- und Begegnungsmöglichkeiten. In der vorliegenden Hausarbeit untersuche ich, ob durch das städtebauliche Konzept das soziale Miteinander im Viertel tatsächlich gestärkt wird und ob durch diese Wohn- und Lebensform eine bessere Integration der Bewohner erreicht werden kann. Für mich stellt sich auch die Frage, ob durch solche städtebaulichen Maßnahmen ein gesellschaftlich positiver Einfluss auf die ansteigende Anonymität und Gleichgültigkeit gegenüber den Mitmenschen in der Nachbarschaft genommen werden kann.Dafür definiere ich zunächst einige zentrale Begriffe. Im weiteren Verlauf werde ich detailliert auf die Konzeption des Viertels eingehen. Literarisch werde ich mich hauptsächlich auf Andreas Feldtkeller beziehen, dessen Werken die Grundidee des Rahmenplanes entstammt. Um auf die weitere Entwicklung des Viertels genauer eingehen zu können, stütze ich meine Arbeit auf eine soziologische Studie, die von Katharina Manderscheid über den Stadtteil gemacht wurde. …
