Hardcover. Condition: Good. 354 pp. Tightly bound. Corners not bumped. Text is free of markings. Very good dust jacket. PLEASE NOTE the reasons for the lower "good" rating. (1) The previous owner wrote four lines on the front end paper in pen. (2) There is pen underlining on pages ix-xiii in the Preface along with pen underlining on pages 4-5 in the introduction. (3) There are two page corners that were previously dog eared. As a result please consider this a good reading copy. This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of bookbinding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block. This is the traditional and best method of bookbinding.

Paperback. Condition: New. This book addresses urban ecology, green technology, problems with climate change prediction, groundwater contamination, invasive species and many other topics, and offers a guardedly optimistic interpretation of humanity's place in nature and our unique caretaker role. Drawing upon scholarly and media sources, the author presents a common-sense analysis of environmental science, debunking eco-apocalyptic thinking along the way. Compromised science masquerading as authoritative is revealed as a fundraising and policy-influencing crusade by the environmental elite, overshadowing unambiguous problems like environmental racism.
