This book delves into a skin condition prevalent in the Western District of London during 1891, characterized by inflammation and subsequent scaling. The author, a renowned medical superintendent, meticulously examines 163 cases to establish the disease's etiology, pathology, and clinical course. Through detailed observations, the study uncovers commonalities and differences among the cases, leading to a comprehensive definition of the disease and its classification into moist and dry types. The author also explores predisposing factors like age, sex, and prior health conditions, highlighting the increased susceptibility of elderly males and those with weakened immune systems. The study's significance lies in its thorough analysis, offering valuable insights into the nature and behavior of this particular skin condition, contributing to the understanding and management of similar afflictions in the future. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
