Contact seller5-star sellerPhotograph signed by four of the Doolittle Raiders. Oversized satin-finish, black and white photograph of the B-25 bombers on board the USS Hornet in 1942. Boldly signed by Edward Saylor, R. E. Cole, Tom Griffin, and David J. Thatcher. In fine condition with a PSA/DNA label affixed to the lower right corner. The piece measures 1…4 inches by 11 inches. The Doolittle Raiders were a group of United States Army Air Forces personnel who carried out the Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942, the first American air attack on the Japanese home islands during World War II. Led by Lieutenant Colonel James H. Doolittle, the mission involved launching sixteen B-25 bombers from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet to strike targets in Tokyo and other cities, demonstrating American resolve following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Although the raid caused limited physical damage, it had significant psychological and strategic impact, boosting American morale and prompting Japan to alter its defensive posture.
