Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. From the Ground Up is not a book about quick success or perfect strategies. It's a story about losing direction, questioning identity, and learning how mindset shapes every outcome-both in life and in the stock markets.Growing up in Northern Ontario, Sky was surrounded by clear expectations and limited examples. When injuries ended the one path she had committed to, she was forced to rebuild without guidance, certainty, or a roadmap. Trading entered her life not as an answer, but as a mirror-exposing fear, ego, impatience, and the illusion of control.Through disillusionment, false mentors, wasted time, and starting over from zero, this book explores the deeper psychological lessons behind failure and growth. It examines why forcing outcomes leads to loss, why discipline matters more than motivation, and why integrity and self-awareness are the real foundations of long-term progress. This is a book for anyone who has felt behind, lost, or pressured to figure everything out without examples to follow. It's about resetting your psychology, building patience, and learning to move forward even when clarity hasn't arrived yet. From the Ground Up is a reminder that you won't always have someone to look up to-and that sometimes, the person who needs to become the example is you. unbound. 2 pages, each two-page spread measuring 8 x 9.75 inches, Washington, D.C., September 29, 1899. Written to John Hyde, Editor-in-Chief of the National Geographic Magazine, in part: ".I have always taken a great interest in the Isthmian Canal problem, and nothing would please me more than to comply with your request (for an article) if it were possible for me to give it the necessary time, but as I said before, it is quite out of the question." Note: due to the destruction of the Battleship Maine on February 15, 1898, there was a consensus that a Central American canal would have to be controlled by the United States Government. In 1899 the Isthmian Canal Commission was established to examine the possibilities of a Canal and to explore the feasibility of purchasing the failed French company under the direction of Ferdinand De Lesseps, who had begun construction in Panama. Small tear along the center fold; otherwise near fine condition. United States Admiral and first commander of the Battleship Maine. He joined the Naval War Board in 1898 and is credited with formulating the plans that resulted in the American victory at the Battle of Manila Bay.
