This book is a concise guide to the chemical analysis of lead and its compounds, with a particular focus on lead carbonate, white lead, and litharge. The author, an expert in the field, provides detailed and standardized methods for the analysis of these compounds, including volumetric, gravimetric, and colorimetric methods. The book also covers the physical properties of pigments and the composition of sublimed white lead. Of particular note is the discussion of calculating the composition of sublimed white lead, a complex compound that is analyzed by transposition of sulfate with sodium carbonate. The book concludes with a review of the U. S. Interdepartmental Committee on Paint Specification Standardization's recommended laboratory examination procedures for basic sulfate white lead. This book is an invaluable resource for chemists, engineers, and manufacturers who work with lead and its compounds. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
