Conservación: Perfecto estado. Intonso. Buena calidad de los dibujos con la firma y fecha de realización por parte de Picasso. Notas: Tirada de 1207 ejemplares, de los cuales mil están numerados del 1-1000, 200 ejemplares están marcados con la seña "H.C.", y 7 ejemplares son nominativos. Todos ellos sobre el mismo papel verjurado del grupo papelero francés Arjomari-Prioux. Es una primera edición que no fue nunca reimpresa ni publicada de nuevo. Este ejemplar es el número 29 de la tirada de mil. Biografía del autor: Serge Lifar (Kiev, 1905 - Lausana, 1986) fue un bailarín y coreógrafo francés de origen ruso. Los inicios de su carrera estuvieron ligados a los Ballets Rusos, de los que llegó a ser primer bailarín, estrenando obras como El hijo pródigo. Trabajó también en las óperas de Montecarlo y de París, la cual convirtió en una de las compañías más importantes y prestigiosas de la época, y de la que consiguió ser primer bailarín, director y coreógrafo. Allí gozó de la libertad que precisaba para llevar a la práctica sus ideas sobre la danza, dio prioridad a la danza sobre la música y el decorado y evitó la pantomima. En el ballet, según la concepción de Lifar, la danza es lo más importante, por encima de la escenografía e incluso de la música, ya que la danza posee ritmo por sí misma. Proclamando la independencia de la danza respecto de las otras artes, Serge Lifar buscaba profundizar en el lenguaje coreográfico tradicional. Con estos principios preparó más de cincuenta ballets, a menudo sobre temas históricos, mitológicos o legendarios, en los que también es característico el rechazo de la mímica como medio expresivo.
