September 2019 - 12. Januar 2020. Der Oybin! Gekrönt von einer Burg- und einer Klosterruine, erhebt sich der Fels wie eine Großskulptur inmitten d…es Zittauer Gebirges. Seit dem 18. Jahrhundert gehört er zu den herausragenden Bildmotiven der Landschaftsmalerei. Den künstlerischen Höhepunkt bilden Oybin-Darstellungen von Malern der Romantik, unter ihnen Caspar David Friedrich, Carl Gustav Carus und Carl Blechen. Delikat abgebildet und ins Universelle überhöht, machten sie den Oybin überregional bekannt und schrieben ihn dem Bildgedächtnis der deutschen Romantik ein. Vom Beginn des 18. bis weit ins 19. Jahrhundert hinein stellten ihn darüber hinaus zahlreiche weitere Maler, Zeichner und Grafiker auf vielfältige Weise dar.
