Also, spectacular two-page illustration by Thomas Nast showing a blindfolded Lady Justice being led by a devil figure to the edge of a cliff as God overlooks from his perch in the clouds holding an hour glass nearly empty. The caption reads, "' 'Tis the times' plague, when madmen lead the blind.' -- Shakspeare." The illustration is in remarkably bright condition and quite suitable for framing. Size is 16" wide and 22" tall. Full-page collage of illustrations by G.S. Reinhart, "The Centennial--Bits from Our Artist's Sketch-Book" and another full-page illustration by Schell and Hogan of the opening day of the Centennial exhibition at the intersection of Elm and Belmont Avenue in Philadelphia.

No Binding. Condition: Fine. Long Branch - West End, Steely, New Jersey. It depicts people in finery walking, in horse-drawn carriages and on high-wheel bicycles. This is a beautiful color lithograph with two insert images at the top depicting "the artificial bluff" and "the natural bluff'. It is well framed, under glass, measures 9-3/4" x 14-1/4" in a 17-1/2" x 21-3/4" frame. The print is by Schell and Hogan, and is dated 1883.
