    hardcover. Condition: near fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 12mo, (approx. 4 3/4" wide by 7 1/2" tall), 125 pages. Green cloth covers with gilt titles and decorations. Two black and white plates. "the story of how Christmas came to Early England. The hero, Caradoc, a British prince, rescues a little child from human sacrifice. Caradoc later goes to Rome during the reign of Nero, meets Paul the Apostle, and is converted to Christianity. When he returns to England he renounces the throne, converts the Druids, and tell them the story of Christmas. Instead of the oak, the mistletoe, and heathen rites, the first Christmas tree is set up -- the gleaming Tree of Light." Book is in near fine condition; dust jacket has a half-inch chip missing from foot of spien, other light wear. Fiction.
