En 1906 fue nombrado director de la hospital infantil universitario en Munich . Permanecería en Munich durante el resto de su carrera.Pfaundler hizo contribuciones en todas las facetas de la medicina pediátrica. Estaba particularmente interesado en la predisposición hereditaria y/o biológica a un trastorno como aspectos de la enfermedad. Se involucró también en "pediatría social", haciendo hincapié en la importancia de la enfermería, la educación, la higiene y las preocupaciones psicológicas cuando se trata de niños. Esta institución fue considerada como la primero de su tipo en el mundo. Aquí, Schlossmann trabajó en mejorar la atención a los niños, que incluyeron un entorno adherirse a una estricta asepsia, la formación sistemática de las enfermeras pediátricas y pruebas que implicaban sus ideas personales sobre la dieta natural.En 1898, recibió su habilitación en el Institut für Chemie Physiologische en el Technischen Hochschule de Dresde.
