A faint small spot on titlepage, otherwise clean and fine, printed on good paper. First edition of this importent account of Schmidt's excavations i…n Schwitzerland, mainly finds in the former Roman settlements, the towns of Aventicum (colonized under Vespasian) and Culm. - "Un des meilleurs ouvrages qu'on eut publiés jusqu'alors sur les antiquitees de la Suisse." (Brunet V:210). The works was reprinted in 1771 under a slightly different title.
