    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Lehrbuch der Chemie Vienna: Beck, 1824 (1825) First Edition 8vo, 2 Volumes, cont. ½ leather over brown boards, maroon morocco labels on spines. I: Endpapers, xv (1), 764 pp, large folding plate; II: Endpapers, viii, 913 (1) pp, v. large folding plate. Binding somewhat worn and rubbed, internally pages slightly yellowed from age but sharp. Signature A. Büttner on first endpaper. Scholz (1786-1833) received his M.D. degree from University of Vienna in 1810. He was appointed Professor of General Technical Chemistry at the Poltechnic Institute of Vienna in 1825 but left in 1827 to become Director of the Porcelain Factory (Rossau) and Director of the mirror factory in Neuhaus.
