Hardcover. Condition: . ~ ~ NOTE: THE PRICE OF THIS BOOK IS CURRENTLY REDUCED! ~ ~ (illustrator). Two volumes. Octavo. Pp. 284, plus large folding lithograph map by F. Delamare; 358, (2 verso blank). Both half-titles present. HARDCOVER, similar in style in contemporary quarter calf and marbled boards, vellum French corners, spines gilt, marbled edges, little rubbed in places, a joint tender, a cracked hinge. In a very good condition and overall fine interiors, very clean and well preserved. ~ First French edition. Translated from the German "Erinnerungen eines österreichischen Veteranen aus den italienischen Kriegen der Jahre 1848 und 1849" (Stuttgart & Tübingen, 1852) by Rudolf von Steiger. Karl von Schönhals (1788-1857). Scarce. KVK locates a single copy, that in IDS Bale/Berne. Not in Bibliotheque Nationale de France. [Provenance:] From the private library of F. Z. M. von Schoenhals (apparently a descendant of the author?) with a small, neat oval stamp on one title-page. C-1.
