Under the title TheologicalRationalism in Medieval Islam: New Texts and Perspectives, a group ofleading international scholars was invited to introduce important newkalam-texts that have not been the subject of previous studies orto explore new trajectories in studying known key-texts. While mostcontributions combine both aspects, they are divided into two groupsaccording to the predominating aspect. The first four contributionsintroduce hitherto unknown or unexplored texts and assess how these canmodify and expand our understanding of kalam.
