No binding. Condition: Very Good. New year's wish card, hand coloured etching with calligraphy text in the middle. Total 405 x 330 mm. WIth some creases and folds on the edges but further in good condition. Formerly folded in four, with tiny hole at intersection of folds and tear at left end of horizontal fold; lower blank margin also w. a few sm./ tiny tears; trifle fingersoiled/ stained. Handwritten number 20 in the right top corner. Rococo style cartouche. Wish card for the new year of 1821. Signed by "Vrouwtje Dissel". The illustration shows two men with turbans (tulband) and a pagoda (pagode) in the back. The print depicts a canopy with below an Asian gentleman with a servant holding an umbrella. This could refer to China, Mongolia (Mongolie) or India.[NL] Nieuwjaarswens voor het jaar 1821 door Vrouwtje Dissel. Vrouwtje is in die tijd nog een gewone voornaam, later verworden tot de aanduiding van een vrouw. Met de aandoenlijke tekst: Zoude op de eersten dag van het jaar, mijn geliefde schoolpen rusten, overouders neen dat kan, mij uw kleindkind niet gelusten (.). Vrouwtje Dissel kan familie zijn van Gerrit Fraijman (Fraaijman) te Heiloo die in 1830 zijn echtgenote al zijn bezittingen legateert (zie SKU 22837).
