Light rubbing, soiling and some minor stains, faint spotting to rear board of Volume III, spine ends and corners bumped, a few corners worn, front joints of Volumes I-III starting, nineteenth-century armorial bookplate of the Aytoun (Ayton or Aiton) family of Inchdairnie, to front pastedowns of all volumes except Volume III, where it is on the rear pastedown. Title pages printed in red and black. Light toning to interiors, light soiling, edgewear and creases to endleaves, preliminaries and final text leaves, faint staining and minor worming in a few places, front free endpaper of Volume III affixed to its front pastedown, struck-through signature (?) to front free endpaper of Volume II. Cujas, a professor of law at the universities of Cahors, Bourges, Valencia and Turin, was the preeminent authority on Roman law in his day.
