Soft cover. Condition: Very Good+. Undated--looks relatively recent, but 2010 is a guess. Paperback (folio oversize). 36 pages. Color plates. Binding sound, text clean, very light shelfwear. This purports to be a scholarly presentation of an early twentieth-centiry Alabama outsider artist, and is mostly illustration of the artist's works--but I can't find other copies on WorldCat or anywhere online, and can't find records of the "Alabama Department of Folklore and Culture." It may be that the artist "Bunk Foset" is a fiction and this is a self-published artist's book. Hard-to-find title. Book.…

Notenblatt. Condition: Neu.

Notenblatt. Condition: Neu. Neuware - With the publication of all six- and eight-part motets as well as all canons, the fourth volume of the NSE completes the new edition of Ludwig Senfl's motets. Among them are Senfl's famous re-working of Josquin Desprez' Ave, Maria . Virgo serena, the three eight-part motets with an unusually large scoring for the time (presumably composed for state events), as well as the works conceived as pure canons, such as the three-part double canon Crux fidelis - Ecce lignum crucis - O crux, ave, the Laudate Dominum conceived for 3-6 voices, or the riddle canon Salve, sancta parens designed as a magic square. In addition to the scholarly editions, the volume offers numerous illustrations, as well as comprehensive critical reports on each work, which provide comprehensive information on the texts, plainchant models, an evaluation of the sources, as well as the context of the works' history.…

Notenblatt. Condition: Neu.

Notenblatt. Condition: Neu. Neuware - In New Senfl Edition 3 all of Ludwig Senfl's five-part motets are published for the first time. It includes Marian motets such as Mater digna Dei / Ave, sanctissima Maria reflecting the Marian devotion at the court of Duke Wilhelm IV, psalm motets that refer to Josquin Desprez in various ways (Miserere mei, Deus), or works such as Qui prophetice prompsisti, whose tertia pars Vita in ligno moritur was already widespread during the composer's lifetime. In addition, the volume offers the first edition of Senfl's large-scale Te Deum laudamus as well as several polytextual motets. Compositions such as Christus resurgens ex mortuis / Christ ist erstanden show the points of contact between the sacred Latin and the vernacular spheres, while other works - for example Tanto tempore vobiscum / Philippe qui videt me - take up the long tradition of the cantus firmus motet, into which Senfl inscribes himself with lasting effect.…
