Contact seller3-star sellerThis is a fine collection of colored Scottish crests. There are thirty in total. Each color crest (often with gilt and silver) measures 5 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches, Each is mounted to a leaf (upon occasion two leaves) that measures 13 x 20 inches and bears long descriptive text describing the history of the family and the crest. They a…re all from C. D. Raymond and Son Collection and each first leaf bears, in pencil, an accession number and the date 1874 (all erasable of course). Raymond has also included a facsimile title page for Slezer's 1693 Theatrum Scotiae: Containing the Prospects of Their Majesty's Castles and Palaces (it also bears a color crest). The crests are quite beautiful.
