Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. The Tenderfoot Squad or Camping at Raccoon Lodge was written by Captain Alan Douglas - Scout Master and is a vintage Boy Scout fiction book. The book was published by M. A. Donohue & Company in 1919 and could be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. It's not an ex-library copy - has no dust jacket and is only in good condition - the pages are yellowing and the spine is brittle. The book is 4 3/4" by 7 1/2" and has 185 pages with a Table of Contents and about a dozen advertising pages at the end of the book. It's a really nice example of how things used to be - both good and bad. Thank you!!

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Although the cover shows this book as "Boy Scouts on the Columbia River or Adventures in a Motor Boat," the title page shows it as "Boy Scouts in a Motor Boat or Adventures on the Columbia River." The publishers probably couldn't decide which and when they flipped a coin, it landed on the edge! The olive-green exterior is in nice shape, with some light edgewear on the corners and head/tail of the spine. The interior has an inscription on the endpapers, and the hinge is coming loose between the frontpiece and the title page and on the rear endpapers. Otherwise a pretty nice copy.246 pgs.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Reprint. This book is in Good condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book covers have light bumping, rubbing and wear to the spine ends and corners. The spine and spine joints have fading to the color, and there are small spots of fading / discoloration to the cover edges as well. The text pages are generally clean, but there is noticeable generalized toning to the pages. "George Harvey Ralphson was a collective pen name used by multiple ghost writers of juvenile adventure books working for M. A. Donohue & Company in the early 20th century. According to the Los Angeles Times and the New York Times, several of the books credited to Ralphson may have been written by J. Frank Honeywell. The best-known works credited to Ralphson were the "Boy Scout" series of adventures. Several sources have erroneously reported that he was a real person" (from Wikipedia).
