Scully is an Irish-born American-based artist working as a painter, printmaker, sculptor and photographer. His work is held in museum collections worldwide and he ha…s twice been named a Turner Prize nominee. The Turner Prize is offered annually to a British artist. [Wikipedia]. This is considered to be one of the most successful publications issued by the Limited Editions Club and an outstanding production. Scully's etchings are an ideal accompaniment to Conrad's classic tale "as they plumb the very heart of darkness." Bound in the original full black Niger morocco with gilt titling to front cover and author name to spine. Set in Fournier type at Golgonooza Letter Foundry by Dan Carr and Julia Ferrari. The text was printed by Wild Carrot Letterpress on Lana Royal paper. The book is about fine with a very small spot to the bottom page edges and two inconspicuous light spots to rear cover. Housed in a suede-lined black clamshell box. Minor signs of handling and a bit of sunning to spine. Still a beautiful near fine copy of this important edition from the Press. Measures 10 x 12.25 inches. 121 numbered pages plus the eight unnumbered etchings. PRI/092724. Signed.
