This Nebraska senator served as Secretary of the Interior under Eisenhower (1956-61). IPS, 8" X 10", n.p., n.d. [ca. 1960]. Very good. Less-than-perfect ink adhesion, accompanied by a few light smudges, on a number of letters. Attractive head-and-shoulders portrait while in the cabinet, with a large inscription on the blank lower margin: "To Peter Thayer with best wishes. / Fred A Seaton / Secretary of the Interior." Despite imperfection, quite nice.

Nebraska senator (1951-52) and secretary of the interior under Eisenhower (1956-61). Boldly penned "Fred A. Seaton / Sec'y Interior" in black fineline and dated by him "2-29-72" on a fine heavy stock 5" X 3" card. With original envelope. Accompanied by an oustanding original glossy black-and-white 9" X 7" news agency photograph, an Oval Office scene with President Eisenhower at left chatting with four gents. Printed caption at bottom dates this image 12 June 1957 and describes the scene: "Three members of the legislature of the Virgin Islands called at the White House today to pay their respects to President Eisenhower." In the middle is "Interior Secretary Fred Seaton, who introduced the trio." A sharp pair.

Condition: very good. n.p. [c1890?]. Two signed drawings, ink on card, 195x265mm and 240x175mm. Some marks and faint signs of blue pencil. The drawing of the troop of Melanesian police is clearly to head a magazine story and the other, what look like two new chums being given the lowdown by a settler on his verandah, is likely also for a magazine story.
