First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. Signed. 1 pages. Published in 2015. Rare Brian Seed collectible piece. A pristine, archival digital black-and-white print of one of his most iconic images, signed on verso by Brian Seed. Comes from his landmark body of work, and now widely considered as among the greatest "street photography" oeuvre of the 20th century. Print size is 10 X 8 inches. Eminently suitable for framing. Encased in its own protective plastic sheet. Without DJ, as issued. There is no ISBN. The print is now rare. Presents Brian Seed's "Lake Michigan, Chicago". Shows four human figures and "bodies" on Lake Michigan, captured in one un-posed image: A man whose back we see. A sun-bathing, bikini-clad woman, the focal point of the image. Another sun-bathing, bikini-clad woman reading a book while holding the hand of another figure, whose own hand can be seen but little else, the rest of his (or her) figure cropped by the photographer. All of them are semi-nude and relaxing on a lazy summer day. A beautifully realized and composed image, showing Brian Seed at his very best. It is, all in all, a perfect image, effortlessly sensuous and sexy. Today, a similar image would have to be produced and directed by a magazine or newspaper photographer with professional models, in order to achieve the same impression of spontaneity and sexiness at the same time. An absolute "must-have" collectible, not just memorabilia, piece for Brian Seed collectors. This print is very prominently and beautifully signed in black ink-pen on verso by Brian Seed. It is signed directly on the print itself, not on a tipped-in page. This print is a late-modern art photography classic. As far as we know, this is the only copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Digital prints are archival and will last longer than analog prints. They do not fade with time. At the same time, it is also undeniable (and must be stated here for the sake of full disclosure) that analog prints are desirable because they are hand-made, and are no longer being produced as such by almost all contemporary photographers. Brian Seed prints command thousands of dollars from galleries. This is surely an accessible and lovely alternative. A rare signed print thus. One of the finest photographers of the 20th century. A fine collectible print. Signed by Author.
