A very good, sturdy hard cover with minor shelf wear, but yellowing (foxing) to the exterior margins and the effects of New York City soot on the dust jacket and fore-edges, binding tight, paper light to moderately yellowed, with foxing to the endpapers and fore-edges, and with the name of a previous owner (musicologist Rudi Blesh) on the front endpaper. In a good, moderately worn dust jacket with the original price present, but somewhat soiled by that city soot.
