Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Absolutely unique and desirable. This is a fully intact, Very Good+ copy--including tip-ins and inserts--of the first issue of Gentry. As a men's magazine, GENTRY demonstrated a distinguished and unique style in quality and execution that only Flair magazine could aspire to. GENTRY number 1's 132 pages scream look at me! Touch me! The ads often have original material attached, such as cloth samples, even leather strips to convey the quality of suiting, shirting, ties, shoes, even cars. The use of assorted different paper stocks make this both visually and tactilely stunning. Contents also include Hesse's Siddhartha, on special stock; a line drawing by Matisse on tissue paper; fold-outs and ads galore. In addition, the previous owner was a "charter subscriber," and the certification of his charter status also is included. This copy is marred only by wear on the spine. Internally, the magazine is Near Fine, but the next-to-last page has begun to separate from the binding, which can easily be fixed.…
