A souvenir booklet of the historic bas-relief sculptures that were displayed above the Oxford Street entrences to Selfridge & Co's department store in celebration of the Coronation of George VI in 1937.

Dark green cloth, rounded corners, gilt titles. 426 pages followed by a once blank section of additional notes to which has been added (in manuscript) a recipe for Eggs Lyonnaise. Inscription on half-title. Obviously well-used but still very serviceable. Subtitled "A Book of Household Reference, comprising COOKERY and HOUSEHOLD recipes, useful MEDICAL and GARDENING information, a simple guide to ETIQUETTE and hints for the TOILET, as well as many other recipes and much useful information of a general nature - the whole alphabetically arranged and simply and clearly explained.".

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. These annuals are SCARCE with original Illustrated dustwrapper with great 1930's artwork. NO CHIPPING & NO SPLITTING to CLEAN boards beautifully protected by presence of ORIGINAL & SCARCE dustwrapper. Internally CLEAN. Prize inscription to front blank endpaper dated Dec. 1931. TIGHT textblock. The edges of the coloured frontispiece have wear and hence we feel it may have been loose at some time - now firmly attatched. NO LOOSE & NO MISSING leaves. The dustwrapper is COMPLETE with NO LOSS. Normal wear to wrapper extremities. NOT PRICE CLIPPED.
