Gruppe, Jagdgeschwader 53, Luftwaffe / Knight s Cross of the Iron Cross awarded for his wartime successes. By the end of the conflict these amounted to 56 aerial victories (including 16 in the East and 17 four-engined bombers) achieved over the course of 946 sorties.
