Hand-colored print. Good condition, with three short tears (two mended) into margins. Light wear and soiling, particularly near edges. The text in the lower margin identifies the Treaty Tree as Tree Blown Down Saturday Night March 8th, 1810. Girth of Trunk, 24 feet. Age 283 years. Fairman's Mansion, Built 1702, Taken Down 1825. This was reprinted, as a New Year's gift to carriers of the Philadelphia Public Ledger, from an engraving first published around 1850. Printed by H. Quig. Fairman's Mansion, located in the Kensington area of Philadephia around what is now 1300 Beach St., was at one time the home of William Penn and other Pennsylvania officials. AAS 208540.
