Dust jacket art by Isadore Seltzer. Smith's description of life in Tahiti when he visited the island when it was forbidden by law to build dwellings which were higher than two-thirds of a coconut palm. Fine in a fine dust jacket. A beautiful copy!

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. New Guinea: Sig Bra Dist Div Intersec, 1945. The January 30 issue of the twice-monthly newsletter, "Under Two Flags". Quarto, stapled newsprint. 18 pp. Punch holes at top for clasp, some pages loosening, age-toning, about Very Good. Local (New Guinea) APO branch news, events, humor, and poetry as the end of the war neared, including a fair amount of gentle humor at the expense of the local WACs. Two different pieces of doggerel regarding, "your favorite Pin-Up girl, Guinea Minnie", with sketches of a WAC in fatigues; also "The Night Before Christmas Somewhere in the Netherlands East Indies". A piece of history from when things were staring to calm down. LMILIT.
