Condition: Very Good. First and only issue of a punk fanzine by future frontman of The Pogues, Shane MacGowan. 13.5 x 8". [6] pp. Corner-stapled foolscap photocopied sheets printed on rectos only. Very Good with slight oxidation to staple, light toning and wear to edges, small closed tear to rear cover at top edge. A scarce 'zine with coverage of The Sex Pistols' appearance on the Bill Grundy Show ("It's 1976 OK an you still can't say fuck on TV"), a small write up on Eater, and glowing review of mod-rockers The Jam. A certain Billy Idol becoming the lead singer of the group Generation X is mentioned, as is their name change from the extremely-forgettable Chelsea. MacGowan writes on the last page, "This whole ^thing was put together etc. etc. with the help of a box of safety pins. All the photos are ripped out of other mags. Sorry it's all handwritten but I haven't got a typewriter. Anyway, anybody that uses a typewriter is a GIRL." He would soon form The Nipple Erectors aka The Nips with Shanne Bradley, and, as the '80s dawned, begin incorporating Irish folk music into his music. A true artifact of early teenage punk rebellion and the very essence of DIY ethos. Fanzines: The DIY Revolution, Triggs p. 59.
