Hardcover. Condition: Good+. 1st Edition. xi+212, num.text figs (numbered by chapter) & 13 tables; sig.top t.p. 'L.Howard-Flanders 2-4-18', who has to be British aviation pioneer Richard Leonard Howard-Flanders, an engineer with Vickers Ltd (Aviation Department) at this time (thanks to Canada-based Stephen Priestley for this information), large blue stamps of City & Guilds College bottom t.p, & rear pastedown, label on fr. pastedown of The Lyon Playfair Library, Imperial College, with presentation label on facing free endpaper 'Presented by Mrs B. Halstead & family in memory of Douglas Ian Halstead' (this has futher details, he died in 1952 aged 28). sm.lib no.top this page and 2 more verso t.p.; over 2 pp. of notes (dated 12-12-18) on both sides of rear free endpaper and extending to top end pastedown+another sheet in same hand slipped in; main text clean, tight & unmarked, sl.splitting of paper to top & bottom fr. gutter. Brown cloth covers clean but some sl.corner bumping, large white lib.label centre sp. & sm.number to bottom. The covers have been sealed in 'Kleersheel' plastic but the label on fr. pastedown is over this so I baulk at removing it (the lower sp.lib.no.is on this surface). Not the prettiest copy of this apparently scarce book but its obvious chequered history gives it a certain appeal.
