MA Consignment. Shelved in 1100. James G. Thompson (1910-1975) was the author of a number of books on magic, as well as many articles for such well-known magician publications as The Sphinx, The Phoenix and The Linking Ring, for which he was the Associate Editor. A banker by trade, he started exhibiting his magic skills by his mid-twenties and was well known for his abilities in card magic, mentalism and close-up magic. 1394632. Special Collections.

Very wide uncolored panoramic photographic view of Juneau taken from the mainland with the city in the foreground and Douglas Island in the background. Contemporary wooden frame. Very good condition to fine condition. Sheelor, originally known for California scenic photography, went to Alaska and the Klondike where he photographed the Gold Rush. He had "the largest circle camera in the world", with which he took a series of panoramic photographs of the towns of Alaska and the Yukon. All of the photographs in this series are now extremely rare.

Very wide uncolored panoramic photographic view of the town of Valdez, on a tributary of Prince William Sound on Alaska's southern coast with the water in the background. Contemporary wooden frame. Good to very good condition. Waterstain at left side, extending 2-3 inches into the image from top to bottom. Small tear in left margin. Some light soiling throughout. There are also some scratches at the right side. A close-in view of the town, with horses and buggies clearly identifiable. Several signs identifying local businesses are legible. Someone has written an X on one of the main streets, probably to pinpoint their own location.
