Green cloth over beveled boards, gilt printing on spine and front cover, tissue…protected frontis portrait of Lt. Col. Henry C. Merwin, additional engravings in the text, 144 pages including a record of causalties, list of commanders and officers, list of promotions and catalogue of enlisted men. Covers heavily rubbed with heavy fraying to corners and spine ends, hinges good at the endpapers, text block basically sound but with some separation between sections (binder's cords intact), foxing and dampstain to frontis, finger soil to outer half of title page, pages age-toned but mainly clean with some occasional foxing and finger soil, some x marks in pencil and pencil calculations on a blank page, no ownership names. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: Scarce Connecticut regimental history; one of those early post-war works. Recruited in New Haven, this 9-month unit saw action at Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg. In its short service, the Regiment lost 533 men who were killed, wounded, captured, and died of disease out of 829 enrolled.
