Contains articles about the courses and photographs taken during the matches, as well as tips on techniques by the players. Wonderful cover photograph of Gene Sarazen playing in Malaysia with a female caddie tending an elephant carrying the bag of clubs. A former owner has written the prize-winning amount of each player next to his or her photograph. The schedule of matches on the rear inside cover is also marked in red pen. Original maroon binding with snap closures and Shell logo printed on front. Excellent condition with light soiling to front cover. Contains 57 road maps such as would have been distributed at gas stations, with index tabs, encompassing the continental United States and Canada (and one of Mexico). Many of the maps cover groups of states, but among the maps are many of cities and their vicinities. This atlas was published and issued by Shell, not an individual's compilation of maps acquired in travels. There is no title page. The date is derived from identification codes on many of the maps. It provides a concise and complete view of the nation's road system on the eve of the construction of the Interstate Highway System. …
