Softbound. Condition: Very Good. Offprint. Offprint of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London, Series B, Vol. 223, pp. 469-487. An analytical study of the brain cavity of the famous 'Peking Man', based on a casting of the fossil obtained by paleoanthropologist Davidson Black. The present paper attempts to reconstruct the brain structure of this early hominid and to compare it with that of other then-known ancient hominid fossils, the great apes and modern man. The original fossils of the Peking Man discovery were lost in WWII. Softbound in printed wraps; spine reinforced, library stamp on top corner of front wrap, 5 cm. loss and additional 5 cm. taped tear to lower edge of rear wrap, not effecting any text. Light spotting to plate pages. Interior pages otherwise clean and unmarked. 19 pp. plus 3 pp. plates, 21 b&w figs, bibliography. Size: 30 x 23 cm.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. The book is in condition and is very well bound. The pages are slightly faded, there are no pencil marks or noatations throughout the book. The previous owners stamp is on the first blank pages. The spine shows signs of wear.
