Pictorial endpapers. 257 p.pages, 10 1/2" tall. A few specks of white paint on front cover. No inscriptions. Weight 1.2 kilos so Shipping Outside UK will be a little extra.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Scott, A. Sherriff (illustrator). Lightly soiled and faded red wraps. Gilt-stamped print along spine. Corners are bumped and rubbed through. Spine is heavily faded and scuffed. Edges and extremities have some moderate wear. Slight water damage along the bottom edge of rear pastedown and preceding couple of pages. Spine has pulled away from binding. Ex-libris at the front pastedown. Binding is coming loose, cracking along the gutter at the half-title page. Interior is age-toned and soiled, the text and images remain clean and clear.

He continued his studies at the National Gallery and the Tate Museum in London. He moved to Montreal from the year 1915 and joined the group of Beaver Hall alongside Anne Savage, Edwin Holgate and Robert Pilot among others.He did his military service for the Canadian army during the First World War. He was then solicited to make portraits and posters for the Canadian Pacific. It was from the 1920s that he began to live in the far north and to paint the subjects of the first nations." bio from the Cosner Gallery in Montreal:THREE color plates from of his paintings pulled from the 1941 Limited Edition; Canada: The Foundations of its Future. The Directors, on behalf of the shareholders and policyholders, and on their own behalf, extend to him their felicitations on this noteworthy anniversary, and offer him their warm and hearty congratulations. "In doing so they formally record their appreication of Mr. Macaulay's distinguished contribution to the upbuilding of the great institution with which he has been an officer of the Company and for twelve years to its present predominant position is chiefly attributable to his leadersip and his unfaltering devotion to its interests. "In order that Mr. Macaulay's services may be permanently recorded, they direct that an historical record of the Company be prepared and dedicated to him under the title of 'The President's Book.'
