The boards have rubbing at the corners which are slightly discoloured and there is a bump to the top rear corner. The pages are slightly browned with a one and a half inch crease to the top corner of the front free endpaper and the owner has writte…n his name in pencil at the top of the front pastedown. A few light spots to the fore edges but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. The price-clipped jacket is largely complete but there is a one inch piece missing from the bottom of the spine and there is chipping with some loss at the corners. The front panel has a one inch closed tear at the top left corner where there is quite a bit of associated creasing and there is a small chip to the top edge. There is also some creasing and a little chipping to the bottom edge and a two and a half inch closed tear to the bottom right corner along the edge of the front flap. The rear panel is a little browned and the jacket has some rubbing along the edges. Illustrated by C.P. Shilton. First printing. Shilton, C.P. (illustrator).
