Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. Book is clean with a square, tight binding and bright, white pages. Book has minor wear on the edges that is difficult to see in the scans. Every novice military flier learns quickly that, in air-to-air combat, the unseen opponent is the greatest threat. An enemy pilot who slips onto your tail,…your "six o'clock," is the one who is most likely to shoot you down. We believe there may be an underappreciated, if not invisible, ground threat to the bases used by the United States Air Force (USAF); as our title suggests, the classic fighter pilot dictum, "Keep checking six," may be as applicable on the ramp and on the runways as it is at 20,000 feet. Presenting the results of an investigation of the evolving ground threat to USAF bases, this report discusses past, present, and possible future threat obiectives and tactics. It should be of interest to Air Force Security Police in training, operations, and policy positions. It should also be of interest to those responsible for planning the defense of USAF bases and to others within the Air Force who have a responsibility for ensuring the availability of airpower as a ready instrument in the defense of U.S. interests. The work supporting this report was conducted as part of a larger study on asymmetric strategies that future adversaries might use to counter U.S. airpower. That study was done under the auspices of the Strategy, Doctrine, and Force Structure program of Project AIR FORCE and was sponsored by the Director of Plans, Headquarters, United States Air Force (AF/XOX).
