With striking colour plates of the people of Hindoostan dated 1822 - Plate titles: Maabar writer; wives of Brahmins; a Mamostann Officer; Sujah Dowlah and his ten wives; Hindoo ladies; a Brahmin who teaches days with wife; the Fakir Perkasanund; and others. Interestingly, after the partition of India, it was common for "Hindustan" to be the Muslim name for the Republic of India.
