Paperback. Condition: Good. Volume two of the Henry and Hobbs Saga, Low Hanging Fruit, introduces our intrepid sleuths to a new world of intrigue and mayhem. A new murder injects Hobbs and Henry into a whole new realm of crime and money and plenty of new PI business opportunities. Along the way, the two are introduced to the mysterious Corps and its iconoclastic leader The Director? no other name needed. While on the search for clues our heroes begin a grand tour of Europe. Stops in Amsterdam, Zurich, and Monte Carlo will prove to be a cash cow for the PI agency. If you've ever wondered how a university professor makes ends meet, we meet a very entrepreneurial professor who eventually catches the eye of now NYPD Captain Frank Valentine. Adult fun and games ensue, as does plenty of cop stuff. On an idyllic lakeside compound in the New York State Adirondacks, Hobbs will earn his Corps bones. Henry supports the cause. A shootout on the streets of lower Manhattan brings the story back home as The Corps' ancient capitalist tendencies expands into a new business. And Henry still can't make it onto the business card.

[America: np, ca. 1930s]. Silver process photograph, signed in the negative. 5½ x 3½ inches (postcard format without imprint on verso). Contemporary inscriptions on verso. Near fine. Born a member of the Houpa Indian tribe in California in 1880, Oscar Norton performed in public for many years as a tenor singer using the stage name Chief Silver Tongue. His stage name reflected his tribal name of "boy with the ringing voice." This full-length portrait shows him in a Sioux tribal costume with an eagle feather headdress and holding a peace pipe. According to his obituary, he graduated from Oregon Law School, briefly practiced law, then became a performer of indigenous and religious songs nationwide, including at the New York World's Fair.
